PPBSA General Meeting Minutes
April 8, 2010
I. Welcome 7:35- opening podcast- to demonstrate movie-making process
President’s Report: Money to Haiti- $178 income donated to American Red Cross
Podcasts on Friday 4/9- please come and watch! Will sell pizza & drinks.
Stricter with rehearsal talking- lots to do!
Secretary’s Report: Read minutes from last month; M/S/P.
Treasurer’s Report: Balance: $4444.64 (see separate treasurer’s report); M/S/P Report.
Vice-Presidents’ Report: Call and e-mail for awards; Celia Schwab encouraged others to take pictures on trips- scrapbook pix needed for whole year’s events- send via email or envelope. Mrs. Greggs also needs all photos emailed to her to put on discs for the keepsakes sale.
Mrs. Gregg’s Report:
Podcast Night is April 9 from 6-8pm; will announce
instrument contest winners at 7:45pm- please come! Music Bee Test- it’s
Cumulative & for a grade, End of April or start of May;
Top
5-8/ kids class move to written test or flashcards for finals; Updated chorus
calendar sent home today- it’s also online at
www.musicmakerscamp.com.
II. Old Business
A. Tallahassee trip: 4/15-4/16/2010
43 kids and 6 adults; Chaperone meeting later tonight. Bus rehearsals up and back + musicianship tests. Uniform check today for participants, Finish checks on Tuesday. Bus A= 5th grade non-chorus; Bus B= chorus. Bus & belongings will be searched. Bring snacks & water- have fun!
B. Bonding: PTA $295 a year- Will find out more
C. Podcast Movie Night 4/9 from 6-8: Voted to sell Pizza, soda and popcorn for $3 for 2 pieces of pizza and a drink. Signs will be made- thanks to Mrs. Levin for facilitating!
III. New Business
May 6 deadline for advertisements for spring program book; $15-20 for DVDs; Formal Uniforms (Act I) and Destination Rock and Roll Costumes (Act II). Awards committee (officers + interested parents)- Meeting May 19 2:15- 4:00 to assemble envelopes in music room
Full day field trip for adjudication/rating- chaperones needed!
