A.                  Sing-a-Thon Wrap-up- musicianship tests, total raised: overall grade

B.                   PTA Carnival Sand Art wrap-up

C.                  Spring Trip April 15-16, 2010 to Tallahassee, FL- Mrs. Greggs

1.       Balances are due 3/9/2010.  Trip cost went up slightly from $150 to $162 b/c we did not make 50 kids/bus. We are now taking 2 49-seat buses instead of 2 57-seaters.

2.       Chaperone meeting on April 8 after PPSBA Mtg.- parents can meet child’s chaperone.

3.       performance Fri. 4/16 at 1pm on the Capitol Bldg. Steps. Detailed letter forthcoming with finalized itinerary.

         D.    Vote on changes to Constitution & Bylaws- BONDING?

IV.          New Business
        A.            Need of the Month- pencils, erasers. Prizes for Music Bee 2nd/3rd place winners.
        B.            Music In Our Schools Month: Make Your Own Instrument Contest deadline 3/24. Flyers to go home this month thru teachers.  Judges needed to rate instruments on 3/25. Sign up sent around. Display will occur during Podcast Movie Night on 4/9. Winners announced soon after. THANKS!
        C.            19th Annual Spring Sing & Play & Awards Night- Fri. May 21 6:30-9:00pm at PMSOTA auditorium.  This is our biggest concert of the year!

 1.            Format: Prelude music (vocal/instrumental solos); Act I= festival music; intermission; Act II= DESTINATION ROCK & ROLL (includes festival music= about 1 hour); Act III= awards ceremony.
2.             Help needed with:  staging; costumes; sound engineering; videography; backstage management; moving the set on 5/21 around noon; refreshments, etc. As stated last meeting, based on chorus contracts volunteer areas, we will call you as needed for assistance.
3.             Program Book Ad Sales: forms for ad sales and one-liners will go home _____;  submission deadline _____;
4.             Awards committee will meet March 10 from 2:15-3:15pm in music room to inventory stock & order; Volunteers also needed to print and collate awards packages.

D.            Broward Elementary Music Performance Assessment (BCEMPA) is a district adjudication festival. Due to budget, no date yet. Stay tuned.

E.            End-of-the-Year Celebration- Thurs. May 27 from 2-4pm. Ideas? Bounce house again? Water balloon war?

F.             PPSBA Officer Nominations for 2010-11 will be taken March 1 through May 1. In the fall, nominations will be opened again for all unfilled vacancies.

PPSBA exists to promote the chorus and music education in general at Plantation Park Elementary School. PPSBA strives to help choristers develop scholarship, leadership, character, and musicianship.
