
MusicMakers! Camp Announcements- Tuesday 7/8/08

2. Today is Costume Check Day. More on that in a moment.
3. We will follow our normal schedule today. Today’s movement & musical games will be with the same teachers as yesterday. Tutti time is the choreography with Ms. Nicole, when you continue learning the movements for Rock & Roll Hit Parade.
4. Today Ms. Nicole will meet with “Good Golly Miss Molly” dancers at 11:50-12:20, and with “You’re 16” couples dancers at lunch in the percussion room. At 1:00 she will meet with Megan Schimansky in the recorder room. Mr. Henschel will work with Spotlight Soloists during snack time; please bring your music and he will listen to you and/or play for you. Anyone else wishing to meet with Ms. Nicole, please let Ashlei or Kristen know & Ms. Nicole will call you between 1-1:30.

This session’s special events are:
Tuesday 7/8- Costume check day- EVERYONE bring all
items to camp in a bag labeled with your name. Bring your bag with you during
the morning breakout sessions (keyboard, strings, woodwinds, etc.) and you will
be checked during percussion.
· Everyone wears plain blue jeans and plain white undershirt beneath camp t-shirt plus white sneakers/socks or black sneakers/socks for the first half, then changes into the Rock & Roll costume for Act 2.
· You provide the plain white undershirt, as this becomes the top of your RnR costume. We provide poodle skirts for girls and scarves, plus sunglasses.
· Girls wear hair in pony tails if possible or 50s style ‘do. Boys must slick hair back out of eyes and jeans or leather jackets are optional.
· NO excessive makeup, no jewelry except post earrings and no perfume please.

Tuesday afternoon at pickup time, each parent will receive a
costume check slip telling the success of their child’s costume
check. We check shoes, socks, jeans, camp shirts, and white undershirts, plus
anything you may wish to provide for your special role. Anyone who forgot their
costume today must bring it in tomorrow.
Wed. 7/9- Twins Day- dress the same as a new or old camp friend! Adults willing
to move instruments over to the auditorium from 12:20pm-2pm in their car are
needed.
Thurs. 7/10- setup in the morning with on-stage run-through of Act 1 beginning
about 11am and act 2 beginning about 1pm. Lunch in the portables. PICKUP OCCURS
IN THE AUDITORIUM AT 2:30PM; PARENTS, PLEASE PARK IN THE 9TH GRADE
PARKING LOT TOWARD THE FRONT OF THE SCHOOL AND FOLLOW THE SIDEWALK TO THE
AUDITORIUM. Finale concert starts at 7pm; arrive NO LATER THAN 6:30pm dressed in
jeans & camp t-shirt with shirt undershirt; bring items needed for Rock & Roll
Hit Parade in bag & set on your chair backstage until costume change at
intermission. Concert Ends around 9pm.
Fri. 7/11- moving day; last day of camp for 2008; pizza; shaving cream war.
Adult help is so appreciated with loading the U-Haul truck before 10am, as Ms.
Nicole (5 ½ months pregnant) can’t lift anything over 20 lbs.- THANKS!!!
If any adult is willing to help pack up camp on Friday, your help is greatly appreciated! We also need drivers wiling to take a load of stuff back to Ms. Nicole’s school in Plantation. Please see Ashlei, Kristen, or Ms. Nicole so we can plan appropriately. Thanks!
