She also was very special part of the MusicMakers! family for 12 years as Recorder & Musical Games instructor. She helped our camp grow from just a few campers to nearly 75 children per session. A former college adjunct professor of music education for local universities, Ms. Rufus performed professionally around South Florida as a jazz flautist and wrote children's music and commercial jingles. We are proud to welcome her daughter, Delisa Rufus, as our percussion instructor. and her son Donald, as one of our Keyboard Laboratory counselors. Mrs. Rufus, you will always be remembered with love, respect, and admiration for the thousands of lives you've touched with music. There are not enough words to express the love we feel for you or to tell how much you blessed our lives with your laughter, your spirit, and your love for children, especially those who are a little bit lost. Rest in Peace, Dear One.
