Chorus Trip Information

General Information:

Pending School Board approval, Plantation Park Singers is hoping to visit Orlando, FL to participate in the Music USA Festival/competition on April 24, 2009. This is a one-day trip with no overnight stay.

Last year's cost per participant was $120. This year we are only taking 1 bus. No cost  information is available yet for 2009.

If the trip is approved, a 50% per person nonrefundable deposit will due to the school by October 13, 2008, along with permission forms and chaperone information.

All chaperones must have received level 1 security clearance by registering at www.getinvolvedineduction.com, before their payments are accepted.

The balance of the trip will be due in February 2009 immediately after our Spring Sing-a-Thon.

In past years, 50% of your child's pledge total for the Fall Sing-a-thon and 50% of our fall fundraising proceeds were applied toward your child's trip. This has yet to be discussed for 2008-09.

Unfortunately, parents who would like to drive up rather than ride on the bus will not be able to watch the performance. Festival entry is for paying chaperones only. Also, all children must ride the bus both up and back in order to perform. However, parents who drive up in their own cars WILL be permitted to tag along with their child's group while in Universal Studios.

School Board policy states that for liability reasons, non-paying chaperones may not remove their child from the group at any time for any reason.  (Sorry folks, I don't make the rules.) All chaperones will be assigned to assist 2-5 children during the day. For security reasons, chaperones are strongly encouraged to travel in pairs (or more) throughout the park.
