Emergency Procedures, Illness Policies, & Medications
Emergency
Procedures and Camper Illness:
URGENT!!! On the first day of camp, please ascertain that the emergency
numbers listed on your camper’s registration form are correct.
Should your child become ill while
at camp, we will call your home phone number first, then your
first emergency number and
last the alternate emergency contact number as per your child’s MusicMakers! registration
form.
Please be sure to provide all medical information on your child’s registration and release forms, including allergies, bee stings, and medications.
Please be sure your child is FEVER FREE for 24 hours before sending them back to camp.
Children who are ill will be sent home, but in the event of a serious illness, we will call Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and they will take whatever steps they deem necessary.
Medications:
Camp staff are not authorized to dispense ANY medications,
including aspirin.
Children that
are required to take medication during camp hours must be able to do so on
their own. Camp staff is not
responsible for reminding campers to take their medications. For safety reasons,
medications may not be stored in student possession; parents must give any
medicines to an instructor for storage until such time as the child asks for
them.
