Why MusicMakers!?
Goals of the Program

    MusicMakers! Summer Camp aims to provide a safe, fun and educational camp experience. Music is the vehicle through which we:   

have fun through self-discovery;

teach teamwork and cooperation;

teach consideration and awareness of others;

teach self-discipline, integrity and perseverance;

provide wholesome, character-building activities;

promote the development of leadership traits;

teach respect for various cultures and styles of music;  

transfer musical, scientific, and historical knowledge using  reading, writing, and mathematical concepts as well as physical skills.

 

The prolonged study of music has been shown to dramatically increase student achievement on SAT and other standardized test scores. Making music stimulates both sides of the brain simultaneously, thereby strengthening a person's overall reasoning ability!
